Royal marriage certificate on sale
Copies of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall's marriage certificate have been made available for the bargain price of £3.50.

Members of the public keen to obtain one of the documents were urged by staff at the Windsor and Maidenhead Register Office to 'get in quick'.

When the current registry book fills up the royal couple's wedding certificate will be sent to the archives, whereupon the price for a copy will double to £7.

Deputy registrar Marilyn Macaluso was dealing with the request for Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall's nuptial papers.

"No mistakes were made filling in the entry on the register on Saturday," she said. "It went beautifully."

The formal witnesses to the civil union were listed as the groom and bride's respective sons, Prince William and Tom Parker Bowles.

The names of the couple were put down as His Royal Highness Prince Charles Philip Arthur George the Prince of Wales, aged 56, and Camilla Rosemary Parker Bowles, 57.

Both state their previous marriages as dissolved.

The Duchess left the column denoting "rank or profession" blank. Her husband described himself as "Prince of the United Kingdom".

The document shows Charles' father as His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, rank or profession "Duke of Edinburgh", while Major Bruce Middleton Hope Shand, a "director (retired)" is listed as Camilla's father.
